December 30th - Barra de Navidad

Woke up and it's raining again. I'm sick of this. At least it's not cold and it's not pouring.

Jenny and I took the water taxi to Barra town to do a a little shopping. Had lunch at Marlena's. Caesar salad, I had chicken and Jen had spicy shrimp. Decided to do a potluck dinner on Family Time since we'd get rained on if we went to dinner in town. Jenny made ahi poke, sashimi and seared ahi, I brought garlic roasted beets and potatoes and a big green salad.

Picture of sailing vessel Mehatebel, a 75 foot beauty for sale, I think they are asking $2.2M.

Thanks for sending me this great picture of Kevin, Cindy, Carter and Hunter, love seeing your smiling faces!

Thanks Julie Nemier for sending this picture of our last night together in La Cruz. Family Time, Infinity and Janabanana.

December 29th - Barra de Navidad

Woke up this morning and it's pouring down rain again! The rain finally let up around 8:00 but the clouds are still pretty thick. Had breakfast and David went out for his morning chat with Walter off of Kiawah and to mop the boat. We were going to get the kayaks down and peddle around today, we'll see.

My beautiful daughter Lisa sent me a picture of her new haircut. Very cute! Jackson looks very somber and stately.

Walked up to the hotel to see if we could get money out of their ATM. Our cards would not work. Called Wells Fargo to get it straightened out and now David's card works but I don't know my code and they can't tell me over the phone. So frustrating. Came back and Walter gave us a tour of his boat Kiawah, a 58 foot Son Ship. Nice. Poured down rain all afternoon. Finally let up around 4:00 but still very cloudy. Will stay in tonight and grill a steak and have with saute'd mushrooms, artichokes and salad.

Dinner was delicious! We bought a hard drive at Costco in PV and Greg downloaded tons of movies on it for us to watch. Watched Invictus with Morgan Freeman and Matt Damon on David's computer and sound through my Big Jambox. It was a good movie. Also found out through Facebook that my son Ben broke his collarbone be free falling down some stairs in his apartment. Hope he heals up fast!

December 27th and 28th - Barra de Navidad

Woke up to rain, lots of rain! Rained all morning.

Every morning the French Bakery comes right to our swimstep

He has all kinds of baguettes, tarts, pies, croissants and more.

I'll take a jalapeño baguette please! $30 pesos

Rainy day all day so just hung around the boat. Went to the hotel spa and had a pedicure. Cooked a pork roast and roasted potatoes all with a lot of garlic. Woke up to another gray day. Cleaned the downstairs and then went with the Rohlands to Melaque. The money machine would not work for us, bummer. Found a place to get my nails done, bad job and it took 2 hours, ugh! Tried to have a spare boat key made, I dropped mine overboard in La Cruz. No one could make it. Picked up a couple of items at the store. Going out for dinner in Barra town, taking Rohlands dinghy.

Christmas Eve - Isla Navidad

How fitting it is to be at Christmas Island at Christmas! We will stay through New Years.

Our glorious sunset this morning.

The bay

There we are, on the left, this is a beautiful resort.

Picture of the Marina from the hotel lobby.

December 23rd - Bahia Chemela to Barra de Navidad

Explored the bay this morning. Fished but no bites. Left at noon for Barra.

Beautiful sunrise this morning

Arriving at the channel entrance to Barra.

Looks like a lot of little eateries to explore

Maybe a margarita or 2 here mañana.

Beautiful grounds.

We are arriving right behind Family Time

December 22nd - La Cruz to Bahia Chamela

Left the docks at 5:00 in the morning. Leaving in the dark as we have a 96nm cruise and want to reach our destination while it's still light outside. Grayson from Family Time is traveling on board with us. The weather is not ideal today, would be better if we waited a day but want to be in Barra de Navidad on the 23rd so we don't have to travel on Christmas Eve.

The seas were not ideal for travel. David is now researching stabilizers.

Pulling into Bahia Chamela, much smoother in here.

Nice little resort town

Cars drive on the beach.

David and Grayson setting the anchor bridal

Captain and crew, all good.

Another beautiful sunset.
