January 30th - Paradise Village Nuevo Vallarta

After lunch we went for a ride to the south side of the Bandaras Bay to see Los Arcos by Mismaloyo.

Cruising to Los Arcos, Captain David, yes we thought we'd try some fishing too.

Is there a Dorado hiding under that log? I think not.

Here we are at Los Arcos

The water on this side of the bay is much cleaner

Los Arcos coming into view

Divers are out here

We trolled back but all we managed to get was tan.

Stole this picture from Grayson, but this was taken on our way south to Barra de Navidad.

January 29th - Paradise Village Nuevo Vallarta

David left at 8 on the dinghy to go see his dentist in La Cruz. I did some cleaning while he was gone. We went to the market here and picked up a few things. After lunch, we went on a dinghy ride. We were going to look for whales but the ocean was too rough and we came back in.

We found this Black Fin boat in the Marina and thought someone would like to see this photo.

Looking good Mark Rowe!

Out in the cean, we find a guy with a jet pack soaring out of the water!

Panga's line the shore

Now isn't that clever! Sticks define the parking spaces :-)

A swim with the dolphins pen, this guy wants a treat.

Really nice private home

If you zoom this just in front of the dock is a crocodile we followed. He is about 6 feet long.

Mike and Judy from Pura Vida came over from La Cruz. Riding in the dinghy to Fajita Republic for dinner

Oh oh! David forgot his slaps. Go to dinner barefoot? No problem. Doesn't his smile look great?

January 29th - Paradise Village Nuevo Vallarta

Got on the bus this morning to head to PV. Bus took us North through all of Nuevo Vallarta before finally heading out to the highway towards PV. Finally got dropped off in front of Walmart about an hour later. David was able ti buy more time for his Mexican phone. We make it our personal hotspot and it works really good for that.

Caught a cab from Walmart to Costco for $50 pesos. Got everything we needed at Costco except they didn't have Allertec for our allergies and no Nicorette. Maybe we can get Lisa to bring some down in March. Cabbed home and put everything away.

My beautiful roses from Costco

We walked over to the Hard Rock Hotel to check it out and see if they were doing anything for Super Bowl. As soon as we went inside, security greeted us and informed us that it all-inclusive only. We left. Our Vallarta Yacht Club here at Paradise Marina is having a party. $200 buffet and lots of TV's for viewing. We will probably just do that.

Grilled a rib-eye that we got at Costco for dinner. Excellente!

January 27th - Paradise Village Nuevo Vallarta

David is feeling better today. Still scratchy eye but definately better. He hosed off and mopped the whole boat this morning. We went to the market here to see if we could buy internet for his Mexican Telcel phone but they can't do that here. We need to go to PV. Maybe we can get it at Walmart tomorrow on our way to Costco. I'm so excited for a shopping trip to Costco again!

After lunch we went on a dinghy ride to Vallarta Marina in PV. Did not see any whales. Lots of big boats there.

On our way back, a view of the Westin and other hotels.

Got a nice email from Kara Alexander today. Good to hear from my friends at home. This is a picture of my two best friends from Tigard. Teri Mengis on the left and Kara on the right. Miss you two!

Took it easy again and just stayed in and grilled chicken for dinner. Watched Pineapple Express for our movie. Now that was a dumb one!

January 26th - Paradise Village Nuevo Vallarta

David woke me up at 6:00 today. His eye hurts so bad that he is going to walk to the ER at the hospital here in NV. I got up and walked down there too so I could check on him. They couldn't see any scratch on his cornea but prescribed some lubricating drops and said he should go to the ER at PV and see if they can call in an ophthalmologist. Took the cab to the San Javier Hospital in PV and they think he has a bad case of conjunctivitis. Antibiotic eye drops and anti inflammatory pills and now we are back on the boat. Hopefully he will feel much better later today.

This will fix David up!

Look at that Iguana on our dock! Ewwww! He could easily be on our boat, YUCK!

Had a piece of Yellowtail for dinner tonight that Jose had given us back in San Diego. It was so good. Thanks Jose! Watched GI Joe for our movie of the evening.

January 25th - Paradise Village Nuevo Vallarta

Went for a walk over to the other side of the channel here in NV. Looks like there are several restaurants to try there. We can take the water taxi over. There was a farmers market going on, but not nearly as good as the on in La Cruz. We took the water taxi back to the JB.

We took it easy all afternoon, David somehow scratched his eye and it's killing him. Just rest and see if it gets better.

We Facetime'd with our son Ben and Melissa for about an hour. Fun to see their smiling faces and catch up. My Susy left to go back to Southern California while we were chatting. Gave him a salute goodbye. Grilled steak for dinner and headed for bed early.

January 24th - Paradise Village Nuevo Vallarta

David took off in the dinghy to see his dentist Dra. Sylvia in La Cruz. Today he gets a post put in and another temporary. When he got there, she told him her air supply for her drill wasn't working. She had called the repair guy and he wasn't coming until 11:30. It was 9:00 and David didn't want to wait, so he asked her if he could take a look at the problem. She said OK. So he troubleshot it and found the high pressure hose connecting to the water hose was broken. After couple of tries, he fixed it and they got on with the appointment. She was very grateful and happy, but no discount.

I cleaned the inside of JB, washed the inside of the windows and washed the bed while he was gone. We had lunch and then went for a walk out to the end of the breakwater and then down the malecon and then back to Starbucks for an iced coffee. Walter and Noni off of Kaiwah are back here in Paradise and they stopped to visit with us. We met them in Barra de Navidad.

Having cocktails up on the bridge, our friends on the Chica Locca came in to drop some passengers off. We were all excited to see each other! :-). Tonight we are going to over to My Susy for cocktails and then we are going with Marty to Riviera Grill for dinner. Texted Ben, our son, made arrangements for some FaceTime with him and Melissa tomorrow. Excited to see their smiling faces.

The boats lined up this morning to pick up passengers for fishing.

Another.

David enjoying his Margarita at Riviera Grill

Our appetizer, yum.

Adios Marty! We'll miss you.

Table side Spanish Coffees

What a production!

January 23rd - Paradise Village Nuevo Vallarta

Went on a walk today. Stopped at Starbucks, here at the mall, on our way back and enjoyed an iced coffee, yum. After lunch, we went on a dinghy ride.

One of many Iguanas we saw on our ride. Crocodiles are supposed to be here too but thank goodness we didn't see any!

The canals here are lined with some pretty nice homes

Tonight we are having dinner here, just in front of our boat. It's called Il Pescatore. We are dining with Julie and Chloe from Infinity.

January 22nd - Paradise Village Nuevo Vallarta

Every morning we have a parade of fishing or tour boats going by

Another big boat going by while the skipper swabs the morning dew off the deck

Here is a Cat going our for a sunset cruise.

Marty Schorr from My Susy came over for cocktails.

We took our dinghy to a place that Marty led us to for dinner. It was Fajita Republic.

We had a fun ride getting here and we ran into Chloe from Infinity and Barbara off a boat in our Marina that I had just met last night on Infinity at the girls wine night. What a small world.

David's Chile Rellenos and Margarita

My Shrimp Fajitas

Here David has taught Marty the art of always hitting hands during a "high five" session. Always look at the elbow!
