February 27th - La Cruz Villa Amor del Mar

Love this picture of Villa Amor del Mar taken from the sky.

Fiberglass still progressing, this is the bow and bow thruster.

Starboard side. The Janabanana will be stronger than before.

Here they installed the port shaft through the starboard struts to determine that the struts are ok and not bent. Whew! All good. Now just waiting for the new props and one shaft. We are still probably three weeks away (at least) from getting back in the water.

Our daughter. Lisa and her dog Jackson. I'm so excited for her to get here. Saturday 3:30 can't get here fast enough!

Stayed home at our Casa Amor and made turkey tacos. So yummy.

February 26th - La Cruz Villa Amor del Mar

Another fantastic sunrise today! Went on a walk around the Marina and out to the end of the Malecon and back. Felt good to get out and walk, we've been spoiled having a car.

Tonight we are at Philo's. He is having a fund raiser for the senior center. These two smiling faces are Brett and Jackie from Victoria B.C. Canada. They are staying at Villa Amor del Mar too.

This is Michael from Philly.

Jackie, what happened to Brett?

Philo's served all you can eat ribs with mashed potatoes, coleslaw and beans. Here, we've had all we can eat!

Luna Rumba band performed for us. They are a Latin Fusion group and very talented. Geo is the lead singer here and he plays guitar and violin. He is from Nanaimo B.C. and spends the cold season here playing music.

Cindy and Jackie peeking in for a better view.

February 25th - La Cruz Villa Amor del Mar

Some clouds in the sky make for a beautiful sunrise.

Bow fiberglass patch is coming along

Patch on the side is progressing as well

This is a picture from the inside where they are building up the fiberglass to patch the bow.

Now the hole is filled

Continuing to work on the side.

Sitting on our deck, smile!

Sunset, staying home tonight. Cooking the last filet of Columbia River Spring Chinook for dinner.

February 24th - La Cruz Villa Amor del Mar

Cindy and Chris invited us to another rooftop dinner tonight. The view and the weather is perfect.

Started out with jalapeño margaritas, a little spicy but so good.

Guests arriving and enjoying the view.

Uno mas margarita por favor!

Tonight we have Tatewari giving us a private concert. This is soooooo cool! Danny, their bass player is actually a gourmet chef and has prepared our dinner tonight. He is busy cooking during the first set of their music.

We had an appetizer that was pita bread with chicken, sautéed mushroom, onion and cheese and then our first course chile Rellenos. Beautiful presentation.

Damn! These margaritas are soooo good!

Dinner is seared tuna with a dill sauce and roasted vegetables. Bon Appetit.

Dessert was creme brûlée with fresh fruit.

The entertainment was superb and over the top. Once again, thank you Cindy and Chris for another magical evening. A special thanks to Chris for sing Moondance and Mascarade. Danny the bass player on the left gets a special thanks as well for the marvelous dinner. Cindy you are a master entertainer!

February 23rd - La Cruz villa Amor del Mar

Walked the beach to Sunday market. Bought a dress, bread, tomatoes, red peppers and David bought some spicy peanuts. Had our favorite pork/spicy sausage sandwich. We ran into Bob and Kathy off of M/V Reverie, they were on the Fubar with us. They just got to La Cruz last Thursday and sounds like they are staying here only a short time. Hopefully we will see them again before they head south.

Had some pool time today. Took our good friend Rick Hester's advice and are enjoying a couple of ice cold Pacifico's.

Big, lush fern off our deck. We sat out on the deck and played a couple of games of cribbage. I won one and David won one. Stayed home and grilled a steak. David is getting the lump charcoal BBQ thing down now, it was delicious.

February 22nd - La Cruz Villa Amor del Mar

Went and checked on the JB. They are proceeding to work on the layers of fiberglass. We Facetime'd with Lisa. Can hardly wait for her to get here. Went for a drive out to Punta de Mita and saw it from the land side for a change.

Judy and Mike on Pura Vida came over to the Casa and we went out to Philo's for dinner and the big birthday party in honor of Leon.

Let the dancing begin!

Philo and the local jammers playing away

Leon, the birthday boy!

Philo

Gary, my favorite sax player!

Julie and Chloe from Infinity were here! So fun to see them and do some dancing. Here, Leon is serenading Chloe with one of his cute suggestive songs.

Happy 83rd birthday Leon!

February 21st - La Cruz Villa Amor del Mar

The bow is being repaired and the plates are holding the fiberglass layers in place

No wonder we couldn't get the boat up on plane! Look at all those barnacles!

Another picture of the prop damage

The dark spot is the point of water intrusion inside the bow

More water intrusion up by the bow thruster

Dave Alexander sent me this picture from last year when Jackson was a baby. So cute. Thanks Dave!

Staying home tonight, just going to grill some chicken.

We can see all the way to PV from here

Another pretty sunset.

This alley is right next to our Casa. People use it to get up to town or out to the beach.
