April 16th - Leaving La Cruz

Clouds and a beautiful sunrise. We are leaving La Cruz today. David spoke on the cruisers net this morning to announce we were leaving and he got really choked up. We have come to really love this town. We've met so many wonderful people. It's sad.

At the same time, we've been itching to get going so it's exciting too! We went and checked out with the Puerto Capitan, then went and said goodbye to Pedro at Sea Tek and the crew at the shipyard. Made a run to Walmart and then filled the rental car up with gas.

After lunch, David went to the Marina office to check out with Blanca and turn in our keys. She had a wrapped gift for us, this box of See's Chocolates and a big hug for David. He was choked up again. Blanca, you're the best, we love you, thanks for everything and all the help! Likewise, thanks to Katrina for all her help, tips on where to stay and pointing us always in the right direction. Thanks to Rafael the Harbormaster, you run the BEST marina and shipyard on the west coast of Mexico. We will be back!

Stopped at the fuel dock to get topped off.

David's favorite fuel dock attendants!

All anchored up at Punta de Mita. Think we'll sip on a couple of cold Pacifico's and enjoy some sun.

Roast beef stuffed with lots of garlic and oven roasted potatoes and salad. A delicious celebration dinner.

Great sunset. We head out bright and early tomorrow morning, 328 miles to Los Muertos, about 33 hours if we can average 10 knots.
