April 27th - Isla San Francisco to Bahia Santa Marte

Our anchor line. Can not believe just how clear the water is here! David washed the boat down, it's salty and dusty. Oh no, here come the bees! They want fresh water. They were freaking swarming! Very hard to fight them off just to pull anchor. Our can of Off came in handy.

Our plan is to anchor 36 miles north at Bahia Los Gatos. We are fishing all the way. Water this morning is nice and calm. Here comes one of two big pods of dolphins we'll see today.

Hello!

Thanks to Rick Hester for the loan of these excellent fishing poles.

So much better with the new pole holders installed.

Fishing along the Sierra de la Gigante mountains.

Hello! This dolphin is from the second pod we ran into today. No fish at all today.

We wound up passing Bahia Los Gatos, crowded with sailboats, we decided to head 14 additional miles north to Bahia Santa Marte for the night. Pulled in around 4:30, lots of wind and swell and very rolly until about 7:00 when it calmed down nicely. Had shrimp tacos for dinner and watched 2012. Spirit Quest was anchored here. They were on the hard with us in La Cruz.
