May 4th - Puerto Escondido to Agua Verde

Turned in our rental car at 10:00, put the dinghy up and left Escondido at 10:30. Smooth seas and light winds until the last hour of our trip. The winds picked up enough that we had white caps and got salt all over the boat.

Made it here around 2:00. Had to set anchor 3 times. The first time we were too close to the rocks, 2nd time we were too close to a sailboat and the 3rd time was just right. By the time we got settled it was very windy but we cracked a beer to relax and jumped in the water to cool off. The wind picked up to about 30 knots and the last time I jumped in, I had a hard time swimming back to the boat! After that, we noticed that we were slipping anchor and getting very close to the sailboat and had to pull anchor again! We found it was fouled with a piece of coral which is why we didn't get a good set. Anchored again for the 4th and final time.

Too windy to grill so I baked chicken in the oven with some spicy peanut coating for dinner. Watched Witness with Harrison Ford.
